Winter stories - Paolo Ventura

€95.00

Paolo Ventura was born in Milan in 1968. He studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, graduating in 1991. After a successful career as a fashion photographer in Europe, he moved to New York to begin new artistic projects that would later bring him international recognition. Inspired by his grandmother’s tales and stories, Ventura began creating and photographing small dioramas depicting scenes from World War II. His work has been exhibited internationally at institutions such as the Forma International Center for Photography, Rencontres de la Photographie, the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris, and the Italian Pavilion at the 2011 Venice Biennale.

Winter Stories is an imaginative series of photographs, visually narrated as if by an old circus artist reflecting on his life. This skillfully crafted monograph presents surreal scenes drawn from everyday life in Italy. The book’s whimsical, slightly noir atmosphere invites the viewer to reflect on its imagined reality.
