En dag i historien is a quiet and different book about the lives of a group of young people who were at Utøya on July 22, 2011. The 43 young people portrayed, from different parts of Norway, survived. They are grateful, but their lives have been changed forever. The event has left many kinds of marks. In this book, they speak for themselves, sharing their experiences, memories, and reflections. Andrea Gjestvang (b. 1981) has met with the surviving young people in their home environments. Through photographs and interviews, she documents their lives afterward. The new everyday life is described sensitively, as well as the life that lies ahead for some of those who were victims and eyewitnesses.
